Face Value 8, 10 Cents | 1973 1974 | Scott 1504 1505 1506

The US Postal Service issued a set of three stamps in 1973-1974 commemorating Rural America. Specifically, the three stamps honored the centenary of three events: the introduction of Aberdeen Angus cattle into the US, the Chautauqua Institution social movement, and the introduction of hard winter wheat into Kansas by Mennonite immigrants. Together, this set celebrates three landmark events in the history of rural America. These stamps are available as a set of the three designs in margin blocks of 20, larger blocks of 30 (for some designs), or full sheets of 50 (for some designs).

Interested in more rural America or history stamps to pair with these for postage? Check out our other vintage stamp listings. You will receive a set of three 20-stamp blocks of these vintage 10-cent stamps, all of which can still be used to pay postage on current mail (using additional postage as needed to make up the current first-class rate). All are mint with full gum on reverse; however, due to the age of the stamps, we recommend use of a damp sponge instead of licking the back, or we might recommend using a dab of a permanent glue stick before mailing.

Shipping Info: We ship our stamps, stickers, and other flat items in a sturdy, flat mailer with tracking for the best protection. Because the post office considers this a “package” and not a flexible envelope, the cost of shipping is subject to package prices. This is the best way to protect your purchase.

T-shirts are shipped in poly mailers.
