This 1993 stamp commemorates the 500th anniversary of the landing of Columbus in Puerto Rico. In 1493, during his second voyage to what is the modern-day North America, Columbus landed on "Borinquen," the name given to the island by the native Taino people. Today, Puerto Rico is a self-governing commonwealth of the United States. Interested in more related stamps to pair with these for postage? Check out our other vintage stamp listings. These stamps can still be used to pay postage on current mail (using additional postage as needed to make up the current first-class rate). All are unused with full gum on reverse; however, due to the age of the stamps, we recommend use of a damp sponge instead of licking the back, or we might recommend using a dab of a permanent glue stick before mailing.

Shipping Info: We ship our stamps, stickers, and other flat items in a sturdy, flat mailer with tracking for the best protection. Because the post office considers this a “package” and not a flexible envelope, the cost of shipping is subject to package prices. This is the best way to protect your purchase.

T-shirts are shipped in poly mailers.
