Kentuckians take note! These 1974 stamps honor the 200th anniversary of the settlement of Fort Harrod, the first permanent American settlement in the State of Kentucky (1774). Today, you can still visit the reconstructed fort at Old Fort Harrod State Park in the central part of the state.

These vintage stamps can still be used to pay postage, perfect for your outgoing mail to the Bluegrass state (using additional postage as needed to make up the current first-class rate). All are mint with full gum on reverse; however, due to the age of the stamps, we recommend use of a damp sponge instead of licking the back, or we might recommend using a dab of a permanent glue stick before mailing. Your recipients will notice!
