Put your mail through the goalposts using this 1984 US postage stamp honoring Jim Thorpe. A pro footballer and versatile athlete, Thorpe was inducted into the first class of the pro football hall of fame, and he was the first Native American to win an Olympic gold medal for the United States. Thorpe died in 1953.

Interested in more sports stamps to pair with these for postage? Check out our other vintage stamp listings, all of which can still be used to pay postage on current mail (using additional postage as needed to make up the current first-class rate). All are mint with full gum on reverse; however, due to the age of the stamps, we recommend use of a damp sponge instead of licking the back, or we might recommend using a dab of a permanent glue stick before mailing.

Shipping Info: We ship our stamps, stickers, and other flat items in a sturdy, flat mailer with tracking for the best protection. Because the post office considers this a “package” and not a flexible envelope, the cost of shipping is subject to package prices. This is the best way to protect your purchase.

T-shirts are shipped in poly mailers.
