Face Value 13 Cents | 1983 | Scott 2048-2051

Held in Los Angeles, these stamps commemorate the 1984 Summer Olympics. Featuring discus, high jump, archery, and boxing, these stamps were issued to promote Olympic fever. The 1984 games were boycotted by the Soviet Union and 13 other Eastern European countries as a response to the 1980 boycott by the U.S. of the games in Moscow, but in spite of that, the 1984 games are considered one of the most financially successful modern Olympic games.

Interested in more Olympic or sports stamps to pair with these for postage? Check out our other vintage stamp listings. These vintage 13-cent stamps can still be used to pay postage on current mail (using additional postage as needed to make up the current first-class rate). All are unused with full gum on reverse; however, due to the age of the stamps, we recommend use of a damp sponge instead of licking the back, or we might recommend using a dab of a permanent glue stick before mailing.

Shipping Info: We ship our stamps, stickers, and other flat items in a sturdy, flat mailer with tracking for the best protection. Because the post office considers this a “package” and not a flexible envelope, the cost of shipping is subject to package prices. This is the best way to protect your purchase.

T-shirts are shipped in poly mailers.
